Product Description

 

An economizer is a heat exchanger that uses the boiler’s exhaust heat to warm up the feed water. You’ll find it installed in the flue, right below the first-stage superheater and behind the tail shaft.
When it comes to its parts, the economizer is made up of things like the flue, a kettle, and inlet/outlet flanges.
What does it do? Basically, it uses the heat from the flue gas to heat the feed water. The end goal here is to get the temperature of the feed water (before it goes into the steam drum) close to the temperature of the saturated water inside the steam drum (at the drum’s pressure).
Doing this helps cut down on the heat exchange that needs to happen inside the furnace. That means we can reduce the heat exchange area, save fuel, and make use of the flue gas’s waste heat—all while lowering the exhaust gas temperature. In the end, this boosts the boiler’s overall efficiency.

Energy-saving principle

 

        Add a reheating process to the cycle. Increase the average temperature of endothermy. This increases the efficiency of the cycle. During the start-up process of the boiler (drum boiler), because the circulation of its steam-water pipeline is not established, that is, the boiler feed water is in a stagnant state, and the water in the economizer is in a state of non-flow at this time. With the strengthening of boiler combustion and the increase of flue gas temperature, the water in the economizer is easy to vaporize, so that the part of the economizer is in an overtemperature state. In order to avoid this situation, a pipe is connected from the centralized sewer pipe of the steam drum to the inlet of the economizer as a recirculation pipe, so that the water in the economizer is in a flowing state to avoid its vaporization.

 

Function

 

1.It soaks up heat from the low-temperature flue gas—this brings down the exhaust temperature, cuts down on exhaust-related heat loss, and helps save fuel.
2.Here’s the thing: before the feed water goes into the steam drum, it gets heated up in the economizer first. That means the feed water doesn’t need to absorb as much heat from the boiler’s heating surface. And because of that, we can use the economizer to replace some of the evaporation heating surface—you know, the kind that’s more expensive to make or maintain.
3.When the feed water temperature goes up, the temperature difference between the feed water and the steam drum walls gets smaller once the water enters the drum. This, in turn, lowers the thermal stress on the drum. Less stress means the steam drum will last longer.
